MARMITE!

okay i think that my body has blatant disregard of time during term break, because even though i finally managed to lull myself to sweet unconscious sleep at 6am , i was roused awake by the jarring noise of the construction downstairs and have unable to fall asleep again.

DAMN.

so i made myself brunch ( i don't know the exact meaning of brunch but i'll take that it means breakfast cum lunch ) and it was a simple porridge made with ikan bilis stock , minced meat , spinach ( i LOVE spinach ! ) and diced carrots.

wholesome food i'd say , and yes if you think it sounds familiar i believe this porridge is a staple for teething babies/young kids in singapore.

and to this yummy healthy porridge i add dollops of.......

MARMITE !



of all the people i've met , the mere mention of marmite will cause immediate disapproval , usually in the verbal form of "YUCKS!"

i don't get it man. i know that you either LOVE or HATE marmite , but the numbers in the hate camp among my friends are startling.

even marmite's manufacturer knows it , and they even have a hate site on its official webpage!

maybe its because i've been weaned on marmite since young , and whenever i'm sick i'd refuse everything but plain porridge mixed with marmite.

i love marmite so much , that i still have this disgusting habit of licking marmite off a spoon whenever the craving strikes. lol.

and then there are are the hardcore bovril supporters ( i remember getting into an argument with a friend once about bovril and marmite. lol. )

come on ! bovril ??!! to me they taste almost the same except that bovril has this weird beefy aftertaste which makes me wince. and its not as nutritious as marmite , since the latter is 100% vegetarian !

the time now is 1.06pm and i feel extremely satisfied and content at this point of time because i'm full and the few days that i have left before the new school term begins are filled with activities and my new job which will commence later.

okay now i shall take a nap.
